Anke Steinweh, Intern

Anke Steinweh is a counselor-in-training completing her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rhode Island College, with a background that spans over a decade of working with multilingual youth, families navigating trauma, and individuals facing significant life transitions. Her approach is integrative and somatic-first, drawing on ACT, expressive arts, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help clients reconnect with their own strengths and resources. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating trauma, life transitions and role shifts, new mothers adjusting to the profound changes that come with early parenthood, and older adults facing the unique challenges that come with later life. Before entering the counseling field, Anke spent years teaching English to speakers of other languages in Rhode Island schools, where she developed a deep attunement to the ways culture, language, and lived experience shape a person’s relationship with healing. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a genuine belief in each client’s capacity for growth to every therapeutic relationship.
