Alycia specializes in working with children and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and other psychiatric and behavioral disorders. Alycia works collaboratively with caregivers to support parenting and address family dynamics. Alycia believes in tailoring each treatment experience to the unique needs of the individual and family.
I have spent the last seven years of my career as a child and family clinician, working with families involved in the state child welfare system, along with foster and adoptive families. In addition to working with children with ADHD, depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric and behavioral disorders, I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced abuse, neglect, and other forms of trauma. I have spent many years facilitating family therapy and specialized parent education and coaching for improving the relationship between caregiver and child.
I approach the therapeutic relationship by tailoring each treatment experience to the unique needs of the individual. I believe in a strengths based, holistic approach to counseling and use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavior therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness techniques in my practice. I strive to work collaboratively with each client to set personalized goals and interventions to support each client’s journey to wellness.
