Matteo is a Master of Social Work Candidate at Boston University, specializing in clinical social work and behavioral healthcare. Matteo earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Providence College, and he was driven to pursue further study in social work after taking several undergraduate courses and interning in a behavioral healthcare setting.

He previously worked in substance abuse and post-incarceration counseling, assisting in individual and group therapy with a diverse population of clients ranging from young adults to older adults. Matteo gained experience in triage, case management, and resource referral and practiced treatment based in motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Matteo’s approach to therapy focuses on collaboration, working towards goals set by the client within a safe space built on support and mutual respect. He seeks to build strong and dynamic relationships with clients in which they can trust and rely on him without apprehension. Matteo hopes to work with youth, adolescent, and young adult clients from all backgrounds. Outside of work and graduate studies, Matteo enjoys hiking, cooking, and playing guitar.
