Makayla S Justa is a dedicated and passionate upcoming Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Currently, Makayla is pursuing her Master of Science at Johnson and Wales University expecting to graduate in 2026. Previously, Makayla graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Science focusing on Counseling and Social Services. 

 

She interned as a Case Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island in 2024 providing comprehensive care to dual- eligible members. In addition, Makayla worked as a Behavioral Specialist at Brown University Health (formally known as Lifespan) for nearly 2 years. Additionally, she worked as a Graduate Assistant for Johnson and Wales University developing leadership skills supervising paraprofessional staff. With this academic foundation, along with professional experience, Makayla brings a range of skills and experience from case management, leadership and counseling support.

 

Aside from academic pursuits and professional experience, Makayla enjoys spending time outdoors in nature and with animals! As a current member of the RIMHCA, MaMHCA, and ACA, Makayla is committed to helping

others realize their potential and to overcome life challenges!
